Cats sure spend a lot of time licking and preening! You can help minimize shedding with a grooming routine that is regular and quick. If you start when kitty is young, she'll be used to it and won't protest nearly as much (she may even grow to actually tolerate it!).
- Comb or brush shorthaired cats once a week and longhaired cats every other day.
- Check your cat's ears twice a month for dirt or wax buildup; just don't insert anything into her ear canal.
- Trim cat's nails monthly.
- Have her teeth examined by a vet at her annual checkup.
- Length of her hair
- Her ability to groom herself
- The amount she is shedding
- How much she likes it
